Day 1: Kyrgyz border - Karakul Lake - Murgab
Your Tajik guide will welcome you at Kyrgyz-Tajik Border. On the way to Murgab, take a break at Karakul Lake, located at 3 815 meters, it is one of the beautiful lakes in Pamir Highway. From local language, it means "The Black Lake" Karakul is one of the large alpine lakes in the world along with lakes in Tibet and Titicaca. Continue to Murgab town. There is a saying among local people, "If you come to Pamir and don't visit Murgab, you are not considered visiting Pamir Mountains". The highest point on today' road will be Ak Baital pass, which is 4 655 meters. It is also the highest pass of Pamir. Most of the travelers associate the surrounding of Murgab to the surface of the moon. Night will be in a guesthouse.
Day 2: Murgab - Yashil Kul Lake - Bulunkul Lake - Langar
Today on the program is another lakes of legendary Pamir. They are Yashil Kul and Bulunkul, both located at the altitude of 3700 meters. Bulunkul from Tajik language means "blue lake" and the color of the water in extraordinary bluish with violet. Around lakes, you will be able to see herd of yaks, it is half-wild animal with long hair. Usually in high mountain areas, people use them for milk and meet. Continue to Langar via Naizatash pass, reaching 4 137 meters above sea level. Spend night in a homestay.
Day 3: Langar - Khorog
Another exciting way is waiting for you today. The road to Khorog will follow the Tajik-Afghan border. The Great Pamir Mountains located in the center of Asia. It represent high rocky mountains, snow-capped peaks, brilliant lakes and white rivers, magnificent valleys and endless deserts. There is a clear reason why Pamir Mountains were called as "The Roof of the World". The populated land of these mountains varies between 3500 and 4200 meters. due to the isolated area , it is one of the rare places where you can still see the ancient traditions and culture of mountain inhabitants. Pamir people could preserve old style of living because they were less subjected to the assimilation with other ethnicities. Have dinner at local restaurant and stay in a guesthouse.
Day 4: Khorog - Kalai Khum
After breakfast head to Kalai Khum village. The area surrounded by mountains and most of them above 6000 meters. That's why only one way connecting Khorog to Kalai Khum. En route, you can enjoy and admire the breathtaking beauty of landscape. Later you will get an opportunity to meet inhabitants of Pamir. Due to the mountainous environment, Pamiris could save their century old traditions and lifestyle. Moreover, you will get better understanding of historical development of human being in all over the world. While you are driving, you can see villages on the both sides of river. Day 5: Kalai Khum - Khoburubot - Dushanbe
The tour will go to Dushanbe and will be last drive in Pamir area. On the Western Pamir Tract, you will drive over high mountains passes. One of them is Khoburubot pass, its height is 3 252 meters above sea level. En route, will be a lot of photo stops to capture the fascinating valleys and charming rivers. Moreover, stop at the local village to greet local people and learn about their lifestyle. Tajik people are very friendly and hospitable by the nature. Day 6: Dushanbe - Hissor - Dushanbe
Whole day is for exploring Dushnbe and its outskirts. You guided tour in Dusnbe will start from Rudake Park and continue to National library, White House, National State Seal, House of parliament and Ministry of Inner Affairs. Later visit the largest National Flag in the world. Its size reaches 165 m high, 30 meters in width and 60 meters in length. The excursion in Central Museum will present you very useful information about country. After lunch, drive to Hisor fort, which is 35km from the city. It dating back to VII-XVII century. It was a palace of Bukhara Emirate. It was built on the high hill with strong protection: walls reached 1 m thickness. According to researchers, there were a pool and a garden and across from the fortress, there was also a busy market square with a caravanserai and shops. The other sites to visit here are: "Madrasa I Kuhna" mosque, which was a new school of 16th-17th centuries. Another is the mausoleum of "Mahdumi Azam", dating back to16th century. Drive back to Dushanbe. Night in hotel.
Day 7: Dushanbe - Airport
After breakfast, drive to airport.
